Ground and
site investigations
We regularly
undertake shallow ground investigations either by using mechanical excavators
or hand-auger equipment. This type of
investigation is suitable for most domestic development, but where not we are
able arrange and co-ordinate deep bore hole investigations. In addition to the investigation work at
site a typical investigation would include a desk study to determine possible
previous uses and a mining search.
With more and more
development being built on brown-field sites the risk of contamination is
high. We are able to organise
laboratory testing and analysis as necessary to identify the physical
properties of the soil and identify any contaminants that may be present.
Our aim is to
provide an efficient professional service at competitive prices. The basis of our fees will always be agreed before
any costs are incurred and we will identify exactly what is included in our
package of services. We are prepared to
invoice on a ‘lump sum’ fee basis, a percentage fee basis or at hourly charge
rates. There are no hidden
surprises. Travelling and general
disbursement costs are usually included.
